After working in various positions in practice and academia in the USA, Prof. Dr. Christian Schuster joined the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH) in 2006, where he took over as head of the Institute of Theoretical Electrical Engineering.
His research topics include:
- Electromagnetic fields and waves in electrical engineering
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
- Signal integrity (SI) of digital systems
- Power integrity (PI)
- Connection of EMC, SI and PI with machine learning/artificial intelligence
- EMC for electromobility
- Bio-EMC of medical devices
- EMC near-field measurement technology
Depending on the content and scope of the issue raised by your company, different forms of cooperation are possible. Enquiries from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly welcome. Possible forms of cooperation include:
- Bachelor’s and master’s theses: Over a period of three to six months, a student or group of students works on a task set by your company.
- Lectures at the company
- Preparation of expert reports
- Transfer of methods and knowledge through workshops
- Contract research, conducting studies and measurements
- Participation in research projects
A wide range of national and international projects have been carried out in the past with both academic and industrial partners.
Laboratory:
In addition to modelling, simulation and data-driven approaches, the institute has a well-equipped laboratory for carrying out various measurements in research and teaching:
- Near-field measurements
- Frequency domain analysis
- Mobile field measurement and far-field measurements
- Vector network analysis
- Time domain analysis
